Career Specialties

Joshua Haddad is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator with a background in architecture, environmental design, and landscape urbanism. He currently serves as Foundations Coordinator at the University of Tampa and helped lead and co-author the new foundations curriculum in Art & Design.

Professional and Community Activities

Joshua Haddad serves as the Foundations Coordinator and Assistant Teaching Professor in Art + Design at the University of Tampa. Haddad teaches courses in all areas of the Foundations Program – including Research and Practice (I + II), Methods and Inquiry (I+II), and Creative Technologies (I+II). Haddad has also taught courses in Drawing, Digital Arts, 2D Design, 3D Design, Graphic Design, and Design Thinking. Before Tampa, Haddad lived in Melbourne, Australia (for nearly a decade) – working as Graduate Architect and Instructor at the University of Melbourne, Monash University, and RMIT. Professionally, Haddad has experience working in multiple spatial modalities of design – including Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Art, and Urban Planning.

Haddad (born in Aalborg, Denmark) considers himself an interdisciplinary artist and designer – who currently works with color, space, pattern, and iconography to create works about site, identity, and equality. Haddad’s degrees include a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida (BA with High Honors); Master in Architecture (M.ARCH with Highest Honors) from the University of Melbourne; and a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA with Distinction) from Harvard Graduate School of Design. When not teaching, Haddad loves taking pictures of the city. In another life, Haddad worked as French-Trained Bread Baker – and continues investigating the connection between food, art, architecture, and the urban fabric.
